Grand Canyon National Park Emerging Priorities Endowment Fund

The most pressing needs of Grand Canyon National Park can change as quickly as the weather. Support for the Emerging Priorities Fund will provide NPS leadership with the ability to rapidly respond to urgent needs as they arise and act quickly on emerging priorities. Below are just some of the ways your generous gift could be used:

  • Rapidly respond to the small-mouth bass invasion, which poses a danger to the survival of the humpback chub
  • Pay for extra staff to clear sudden rockslides from trails
  • Quickly replace telecommunications equipment damaged by lightning strikes
  • Bring on extra Preventive Search & Rescue (PSAR) volunteers and supplies during summer months to minimize heat-related injuries
  • Fund priority projects requested by Grand Canyon's associated tribes (e.g., providing Indigenous-voice interpretive programming, expanding cultural demonstration, etc.)
  • Expand Grand Canyon Dark Skies interpretive programming (e.g., purchasing new telescopes, supporting more volunteers, etc.)
