Support Grand Canyon Search and Rescue (SAR) in Memory of Chenoa Nickerson
Contributions to this fund are being donated to the Grand Canyon National Park Search & Rescue (SAR) Program.
Our sweet sister, Chenoa Nickerson, was our sunshine. Chenoa unapologetically traveled the world, sharing her joy and infectious smile with everyone she met, she truly did not know a stranger.
Chenoa was swept into the Colorado River by a flash flood while hiking near the Havasu Creek and Colorado River confluence on 8/22/2024, her 33rd birthday. After three days of an extensive search and rescue effort spearheaded by the Grand Canyon National Park Service, Chenoa was found deceased. While our hearts are heavy with grief, Chenoa’s light will forever be a part of all of us, and we will ensure that her spirit continues to shine brightly.
Your contributions to this fund are being donated to the Grand Canyon National Park Search and Rescue (SAR) Program. These brave men and women utilized every resource to find our sweet sister by navigating dangerous terrain with extremely limited methods of communication while leaving no stone unturned; we are profoundly grateful for them and fully acknowledge that they defied the impossible to bring our family the gift of closure.
As we continue to support SAR in memory of our beloved Chenoa - our sunshine who brought so much light into our lives - we are reminded of just how deeply she is missed by everyone. Your contributions are a testament to the impact she had on all of us. We are committed to honoring her memory and continuing the legacy of warmth and kindness she embodied. Our aim is to pay it forward by fostering a culture of gratitude and support. We believe that by helping others we can create a positive ripple effect, inspiring those around us to do the same.
Thank you for standing by us and helping to honor Chenoa’s memory with such profound love and support. Your actions are a beacon of hope and a testament to the enduring power of community.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tamara Morales, Kyra Farkas, and Janosh Wolters
